INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM on „FREE RADICALS IN CHEMICAL BIOLOGY”

One-day International Symposium “Free Radicals in Chemical Biology” organized by the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology (INCT) will be held on September 11, 2012 in the seminar room of the newly opened Centre of Radiochemistry and Nuclear Chemistry at the INCT. Scientists from Uruguay (University of Montevideo), France (University Paris-Sud, Orsay) and Poland representing five institutions (Gdansk University, Lodz Technical University, Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Lodz University and Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology) are the speakers at the Symposium. Studies related to the reactivity of free radicals in systems of biological relevance have been performed in these centers for many years. Inauguration of the Symposium is scheduled for 9 a.m. and its ending for 5:10 p.m. Program of the Symposium is divided into 3 thematic sessions and comprises 9 lectures. Within the I session, devoted to radical processes in peptide/protein systems, 3 lectures will be presented, within the II session, devoted to radical processes in DNA systems, 2 lectures, and finally within the III session, devoted to radical processes in miscellaneous biological systems, 4 lectures.

The participation in the Symposium is free for all participants. Symposium Organizers invite all INCT employees and PhD students, and all people from academic and research institutions in and outside Warsaw who are interested in biological aspects of free radical issues
