Dr Tadeusz Urbanski graduated from the Warsaw University of Technology in 1955. In 1957 he attended a training course in radiochemistry at the Moscow University. He worked at the Institute of Nuclear Research (1955-1983) where he received his Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1964, and then at the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology. His first research works were concerned with processing of uranium ores and separation of rare earth elements. Later he worked on hydrometalurgical technologies of recovery of various nonferrous and noble metals. In 1978 he was awarded a fellowship and worked at the Birmingham University (Great Britain) on solvent extraction processes of some metals. He is the author and co-author of over 80 publications and several patents. He retired in 1991. At present he is a part time worker at the Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology. He is a Liaison Officer of INIS of the IAEA in Vienna for Poland. |
