The relative biological effectiveness (RBEm) of tritiated water compared to X-rays for killing mouse C3H10T1/2 cells was determined at doses representing the 37% survival values and at very low doses obtained by extrapolating on the basis of the linear-quadratic model. The calculated RBE values were 1.12 and 1.21 ± 0.17, respectively.
