APPLICATION OF GENETIC ENGINEERING IN FOOD PRODUCTION

The paper describes the methods of genetic engineering, which enable to insert alien genes into animal and plant organisms. Properties of transgenic plants and their identification have been presented. Anxieties and reproaches towards genetically modified food have been discussed. Finally, low regulation concerning genetically engineered crops in the European Union, in the USA and in Poland have been enclosed.
