Some physical parameters (thickness, initial absorbance) and also the dosimeteric answer of
two films: a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film used as a routine dosimeter in the Radiation
Sterilization Station (Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology – INCT) and a commercially
available dosimetric film B-3, were investigated. Following the routine dosimetric pro-cedure,
the only one unfavourable feature of the PVC film is a higher – in comparison with B-3 – spread of
dosimetric signals between different samples (sPCW = 3.9%,
sB-3 = 2.4%).
