Raporty IChTJ. Seria B no. 3/2007

The Radiation Sterilization Plant operated at the Insitute of Nuclear Chemistry and Tech-nology (INCT) is using the dosimetry method based on optical signal measurement at polyvinylchloride (PVC) film which is 30 years old. After so long storage time, a scrupulous revalidation of the method is necessary. In the report there were presented results of in-vestigations dealing with physical parameters mainly. It was ascertained that PVC film used in the INCT belongs to different batches. Thickness scattering is low (±2%), but the trans-parency, sensitivity to radiation, repeatability of dosimetric signal and other parameters are changing to a wide extent. As a result, each scroll of the PVC film must be carefully checked and calibrated before its dosimetric use.
